The Jacob Miller, Jr. book: Table of Contents and Index of persons in the book
PURCHASE this book.
Observations made while compiling the Jacob Miller, Jr. book follows.
Because Jacob Miller, Jr.’s second wife was Catherine Adam, I completed the family
information I had on her. Her father, Emmerich Adam and her maternal grandfather, Johann
George Kleinpeter, are both listed on the Highland Cemetery plaque with Jacob Meuller. The
cemetery is located near the LSU campus in Baton Rouge, LA.
Some of the Kleinpeters married Traeger’s (Tegre). This Traeger (Tegre) is one of the names
Jacob Miller, Sr.’s wife was also known by. Jacob, Jr.’s mother in my published books is Anne
Marie Theigen. Franz Kleinpeter married Adelaide Traeger. Julia Kleinpeter married Jean
Traeger.
Another family on the Highland Cemetery plaque is Lewis Ory. He married Anna Maria Traeger
(Tregre). The Nicolas Ory family was on the La Bretana (Britannia). According to The
Settlement of the German Coast of Louisiana, Nikolaus Ory’s wife was Anna Strassbach while
the “Annual Report of the American Historical Association for the Year 1945” on the La Bretana
listed his wife as Christine. I was unable to resolve this difference. Moreover the “Annual
Report of the American Historical Association for the Year 1945” listed the children’s names
different than the family information I collected on Ancestry.com.
Based on the close relationships of the Miller’s, Kleinpeter and Ory’s, it seems possible that
Jacob, Sr.’s wife last name may be Traeger. Moreover, the possibility exit that she is related to
the Traeger’s that married into the Kleinpeter and Ory families.
